Terms of Service

The deal between us and you.

These terms govern your use of signup.sale (“the Service”) as a Shopify merchant. By installing the app on a Shopify store you accept these terms on behalf of that store. Last updated: May 3, 2026.

1. What signup.sale does

signup.sale lets you run sign-up sales: buyers enter a public signup page during a window, you (or the system) run a fair random draw, and winners get a time-limited link to a pre-built Shopify draft order they can check out with. The fairness draw uses a public commit-reveal protocol described at signup.sale.

2. Your account and store

  • You must own or be authorized to manage the Shopify store on which you install the app.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of drop configuration (variants, spot counts, windows, claim window length).
  • You are responsible for fulfilling orders that result from winning claims, the same as any other Shopify order.

3. Plans and billing

We offer Free, Maker, and Scale plans. Paid plans bill monthly through Shopify's billing API. You can change or cancel at any time in the app's Plans page; no refunds for partial months. Plan limits (e.g. drops per month, entries per drop) are enforced in-app.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use signup.sale to:

  • Run drops you have no intention of fulfilling (bait lists, fake scarcity for engagement farming).
  • Discriminate against entrants based on protected characteristics. The draw is random; you may not manually override outcomes to exclude specific buyers except via documented blocklist features.
  • Sell goods or services that violate Shopify's Acceptable Use Policy or applicable law.
  • Misrepresent the fairness mechanism. The fairness page is public for a reason — please don't lie to buyers about how draws work.
  • Attempt to scrape buyer email addresses through the admin or fairness pages for use outside the app (marketing lists, resale, etc.).

5. Buyer data

Buyers who enter your drops submit their email through signup.sale. You and signup.sale jointly process this data: signup.sale acts as your data processor for buyer email and entry records. Details are in our Data Processing Addendum, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.

We do not give you a marketing list. The admin shows participant emails for the purpose of running and auditing drops; using them for unrelated marketing outside of Shopify is your responsibility under applicable law (GDPR, CAN-SPAM, etc.) and these terms.

6. Service availability

We aim for high availability but provide the Service “as is.” Cron-driven actions (auto-open, auto-close, expiry sweeps) run on a best-effort basis. For critical drops, you can manually open, close, or draw from the admin.

Scheduled maintenance, if any, is announced in advance via the embedded admin or email to the contact on file.

7. Termination

  • You can uninstall signup.sale from your Shopify admin at any time. On uninstall, Shopify fires the shop/redact webhook 48 hours later and we delete your shop and all associated data.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, especially the Acceptable Use clauses, with notice where reasonable.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, signup.sale is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud or willful misconduct.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the embedded admin at least 14 days before taking effect. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes are resolved in the state or federal courts of San Francisco County.
